This sensor module has strong adaptability to ambient light. It is equipped with a pair of infrared emitter and receiver tubes. The emitter tube emits infrared light at a specific frequency. When an obstacle (reflective surface) is encountered in the detection direction, the infrared light is reflected back and received by the receiver tube. After processing by the comparator circuit, the green indicator light will turn on, and at the same time, the signal output interface will output a digital signal (a low-level signal).
The detection distance can be adjusted via a potentiometer knob, with an effective range of 2~30cm, and the operating voltage is 3.3V-5V. This sensor features adjustable detection distance via potentiometer, low interference, easy assembly, and convenient use. It can be widely used in various scenarios such as robot obstacle avoidance, obstacle-avoidance vehicles, assembly line counting, and black-and-white line following.

When the module detects an obstacle signal ahead, the green indicator light on the circuit board lights up, and the OUT pin continuously outputs a low-level signal. The module has a detection range of 2~30cm and a detection angle of 35°. The detection distance can be adjusted via a potentiometer: turning the potentiometer clockwise increases the detection distance, while turning it counterclockwise decreases the detection distance.

The sensor uses active infrared reflection detection, so the reflectivity and shape of the target are critical to the detection distance. Specifically, black objects have a shorter detection distance, while white objects have a longer one; small-area objects have a shorter detection distance, while large-area objects have a longer one.

The OUT output pin of the sensor module can be directly connected to a microcontroller's I/O pin, or it can directly drive a 5V relay. Connection method: VCC-VCC; GND-GND; OUT-I/O.

The module uses an LM393 comparator, ensuring stable operation.

The module can be powered by a 3-5V DC power supply. When the power is connected, the red power indicator light turns on.

The threshold comparison voltage of each module has been adjusted via the potentiometer before shipment. Please do not adjust the potentiometer arbitrarily except under special circumstances.
