Description

The gas-sensitive material used in the MQ-2 gas sensor is tin dioxide (SnO2), which has a relatively low electrical conductivity in clean air. When there is a combustible gas in the environment where the sensor is located, the electrical conductivity of the sensor increases as the concentration of the combustible gas in the air increases. 
Using a simple circuit, the change in electrical conductivity can be converted into an output signal corresponding to the concentration of the gas. The MQ-2 gas sensor has high sensitivity to liquefied gas, propane, and hydrogen, and is also ideal for detecting natural gas and other combustible vapors. This sensor can detect various flammable gases and is a low-cost sensor suitable for a variety of applications.
Module Application: 
A gas leakage monitoring device suitable for use in both households and factories, suitable for detecting liquefied gas, butane, propane, methane, smoke, etc. 
Module Features: 
1. Adopting high-quality double-panel design, it features power indicator and TTL signal output indicator;
2. It has DO switch signal (TTL) output and AO analog signal output;
3. The valid TTL output signal is a low level. (When the output is low level, the indicator light is on, and it can be directly connected to the microcontroller or relay module);
4. The analog output voltage increases as the concentration increases.
5. It has good sensitivity for liquefied gas, natural gas, urban gas, and smoke.
6. There are four screw holes for positioning;

Electrical performance: 
Input voltage: DC5V  Power consumption (current): 150mA
DO output: TTL digital quantity 0 and 1 (0.1V and 5V)
AO output: 0.1 - 0.3V (relatively pollution-free), maximum concentration voltage around 4V
Special reminder: After the sensor is powered on, it needs to preheat for about 20 seconds for the measurement data to be stable. The sensor heating is a normal phenomenon because there is an electric heating wire inside. If it gets too hot, it will be abnormal. 
Connection method:
1. VCC: Connect to the positive terminal of the power supply (5V)
2. GND: Connect to the negative terminal of the power supply
3. DO: TTL switch signal output
4. AO: Analog signal output
