Description

[Introduction to the RC522 Chip] 
MF RC522 is a highly integrated read-write card chip used in 13.56MHz non-contact communication. It is a low-voltage, low-cost, and small-sized non-contact read-write card chip launched by NXP for the "three-meter" application. It is a good choice for the development of intelligent meters and portable handheld devices. MF RC522 utilizes advanced modulation and demodulation concepts and integrates all types of passive non-contact communication methods and protocols at 13.56MHz. It supports 14443A compatible responder signals. The digital part processes ISO14443A frames and error detection. Additionally, it supports the fast CRYPTO1 encryption algorithm for verifying MIFARE series products. MFRC522 supports faster non-contact communication in the MIFARE series, with a bidirectional data transmission rate of up to 424 kbit/s. As a new member of the 13.56MHz high-integration read-write card series chip family, MF RC522 shares many similarities with MF RC500 and MF RC530, while also having many characteristics and differences. It communicates with the host in SPI mode, which is conducive to reducing connections, reducing the size of the PCB board, and reducing costs.

The MF522-AN module is designed with the original Philips MFRC522 chip to create a card reading circuit. It is easy to use, cost-effective, and suitable for users involved in equipment development, card reader development, etc., as well as those who need to design or produce RF card terminals. This module can be directly installed in various card reader molds. The module operates at a voltage of 3.3V and can be simply connected to any user's CPU motherboard through a few lines via the SPI interface for communication, ensuring stable and reliable operation of the module and a long reading distance.
